1. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 does not say an elder must have always been the husband of one wife.
2. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 does not say an elder must currently be the husband of one wife.
3. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 does not say a man cannot be an elder unless he is the husband of one wife.
4. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 does not say a man has to be married to be an elder.
5. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 does not say an elder cannot have had any treachery, dishonor, and disobedience to Christ in their past.
6. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 says an elder’s life must be known for being above reproach in how they live today.
7. 1 Timothy 3:1-2 does not say a man who has divorce in his past but is humble about it and repentant of it cannot be an elder.

it is a fine work he desires to do. An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach…” 1 Timothy 3:1-2
