Is It Okay for Christians to Watch Horror Movies?

Is It Okay for Christians to Watch Horror Movies? We answered that question on this episode of Real Truth. Real Quick.

Show Notes:

Principles:
1. Anyone who is serious about “seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33) should avoid anything that does not bring glory to God.

2. Evaluate the entertainment you consume against the words of Psalm 101:3, “I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless.”

3. When you start a sentence with, “I’m doing this because I love it,” rather than “I’m doing this because I love God,” that is problematic.

4. Make sure your entertainment choices reflect a heart that is ready for your King’s return, rather than a heart that delights in earthly things.

5. If something is alive, it is because you are feeding it. If there is something in your heart you wish wasn’t alive, stop feeding it.

6. Sin and the things that are against God grow in the dark. Everything that is beautiful, true, and good grows in the light.

7. So much of what we feed ourselves makes us unhealthy, and then we wonder why it is that we are sick.

8. If you don’t want your heart to be constantly pulled toward evil things, then don’t meditate on evil things.
